  Narrative can be a fiction story and a non-fiction story. The type of fiction stories are folktale, a legend, a myth, and a fable. On the other hand, non fiction example is 25 prophets, 9 Islamic warriors, our history, etc. Sometimes non-fiction story can be called Essay.  Generic structure: Orientation: a set of characteror particoasnt, a plot or setting (Who? When? Where?)  Complication: problems arise.  Resolution: dolution of problems.  Re-orientation: a closing remark (optional)  The purpose: To entertain the readers and listeners or To amuse the readers snd listeners.  Long time ago, in a small village near the beach in West Sumatra, lived a woman and her son, Malin Kundang.
