Phrasal Verbs
Phrasal verb is the combination of verb and one or two particles (preposition or adverb) and gas a new meaning.
Verb + preposition: go out, look at
Verb + adverb: go away, go together
1. Ask out: mengajak kencan.
Tukijo asked Tukiyem out last night.
2. Back up: mendukung
I will always back you up.
3. Break down: mogok, rusak
My car broke down on the way home.
My washing machine broke down.
4. Break in: membuka paksa
Everyone was sleeping when the robbers broke in.
5. Bresl off: memutuskan (hubungan, tunangan)
They've broken off their engagement.
6. Break out: menyebar
The new virus breaks out all over the world.
7. Break up: mengakhiri hubungan
Varel broke up with his girlfriend last month.
8. Bring along: mengajak
I will bring my boyfriend along to the party.
9. Bring up: membesarkan
She brought up five children.
He was brought up by his uncle.
10. Call at: singgah, mampir
The train calls at Solo Balapan station.
11. Call back: telpon balik
I will call you back as soon as possible.
12. Call off: membatalkan
The manager decided to call off the meeting.
13. Call for: menjemput
I will call for you just after midday.
14. Call in: memanggil ke rumah
We had to call in the electrician as all lights went out.
15. Call on: mengunjungi
I should call on my grandmother more often.
16. Call up: menelpon
Call up medical!
17. Calm down: menenangkan hati
Please call down, everything will be alright.
18. Care for: sayang, senang

19. Carry on: lanjut aja

20. Carry out: mengerjakan
It's difficult yo carry the plan out.
21. Catch up: mengejar, menyusul

22. Check in: datang ke hotel dan melakukan pendaftaran

23.Check out: meninggalkan hotel

24. Check up: memeriksa

26. Chill out: santai

27. Close down: tutup
