Describing a Place

 

Here are steps:

1. Enlarge our vocabulary

Find its meaning and classify into the correct category!

Moist, bustling, fiuntain, chilly breeze, congested, pavement, smells if seaweed and fish, skyscrapers, hiking trail, golden rays of sun, scenery, lake, windblown, honking cars, cottagd, food stall, mesdow, mountain range, crimson red sky, pond, square, prickly cactus, peaceful, cliff.

2. Use 5 senses (sense of sight, sense of sound, sense of smell, sense of touch, sense of taste) 

Beach (sense of sight) 

The white sand and tge tiny pink shells. 

The waving palm coconut tree on gge shore. 

The way tge sea is the same blue as the sky, making it hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. 

The rocks are still wet from high tide. 

The smell of caught fish from the fishing boat (smell). The faint taste of salt on the breeze (taste). The screeching herring gulls. (sound). The slippery rocks (touch) 

Exercise:

3. Use adjectivrs

I really feel nostagic evertime I climb to this hill. 

Shape/size: large/small, wide/narrow, round, rectangular/square.

Atmossphere: cozy, comfortable, warm/cool, cold/hot.

Feeling: amazed, surprosed, astonished, mesmerized. 

Appearancr: colourful, unforgetable, enchanting, unattractive. 

                               Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls, a popilar destination fot thousands of viditors each year, is a very astonishing place. When you stand at tgr edge and look down at the 288 feet of white waterfalls, you ferl smazed at the power of bature. Tge tree lined river that leads into the falls-moving, poiring over the edge of the falls and crashing to the bottom in a load roar. 

If you want to exoerience the falls close up, go got a bost rude. You'll come near enough to look up st the roaring streams of water flowing over the edge and feel the cool mist that rises as the water hits the rocks brlow seeing Niagara Falls is an ubforgrtable experience.
