Definition:

Texts that explain how something works or how to use instruction/operation machine or use technology, e. g. How to use the fax? 

Texts that instruct how to do a particukar activity, e. g. Recipes, rules for games. 

Texts that deal with human behavior, e. g. How to succeed, how to live happily. 

Generic structure:

1. Goal (title) 

The purpose of the procedure. 

2. Materials or ingreduents

Things are needed to make something

3. Steps or directions (in order) 

Steps in the method are written clearly and concusely in a logical sequence. They are numbered.
