Narrative Text
Narrative is a story that might be a fiction (an imagination story) or non-fiction (a real story). The purpose (social functions:
To entertain or amuse the readers or listeners.
To teach a lesdon, like knowing right or wrong.
To present the story of human actions in such a way that they are perceived by the audience to be true.
The steps in a narrative:
Orientation:
It introduces the characters and setting. It contains about WHO were involved in the story, WHEN and WHERE.
Complication:
It presents the problems or conflict in the story. It contains a problem which arises followed by other problems. Complication explores the conflict in the story. It shows the rising crisis or rising action, and climax of the story.
Resolution:
It is the sokution of the problem or the ending of the story. It shows the situation which the oriblems have been resolved with happy or sad ending.
A narrative text usually has the following components:
Characterization: a description or the distinctive nature or feature (it can be physical, emotional, mental and social qualities) of someone or something to distinguish one individual from another.
Setting: the time and place when or where the story taken place.
Plot: the sequence of events that make up a story
Orientation: Introduction to the characters, setting and directions of the story.
Complication: struggles ir problems faced by the characters.
Climax: the oeak point of the problem or the highest point of tension in the story.
Resolution: the end if the story.
Moral: the lessons that story teaches to the readers.
